“Intentional Gatherings” is a series of community consultations hosted by The Invisible Practice between September 2024 and June 2025. As the videographer, Ebony R. Gooden documented these events, capturing the essence of community engagement and the development of Deaf-centric creative initiatives.
“Running Through Her Past,” a short documentary film by Ebony R. Gooden, tells the story of Natasha “Courage” Bacchus, an Afro-Guyanese Queer woman and former Deaflympics track athlete. The film explores themes of identity, resilience, and transformation through experimental storytelling techniques that highlight the intersection of sound, animation, and Deaf experiences.
Originally from Washington D.C., Ebony lives in Calgary, Alberta and primarily works with digital media. She is an advocate for accessibility for artists with disabilities.
